Kaldakvisl Dam

Kaldakvisl Dam is located near Saudafell in Iceland's central Highlands and forms part of the Thorisvatn regulation system. The Kaldakvisl river was dammed here and diverted through a canal into the northern part of Lake Thorisvatn.

The dam was constructed as part of the Thorisvatn regulation project in 1970–1972. The development increased the amount of water that could be stored and regulated for hydropower stations farther downstream.
