About Sigöldugljúfur Canyon
Sigöldugljúfur is a striking canyon in the Icelandic Highlands, known for turquoise water and numerous small waterfalls flowing from its walls. The area has changed as a result of hydroelectric development, but springs and flowing water continue to define the landscape. Dark volcanic rock, green moss and blue-green water create the dramatic contrasts for which the canyon is known.
