Ufsar Dam is part of the water conveyance system serving Fljotsdalur Power Station east of Snaefell. It creates Ufsarlon reservoir and collects water from Jokulsa i Fljotsdal.
The dam reaches a maximum height of 37 metres and is approximately 600 metres long. Around half a million cubic metres of fill material were used in its construction. Ufsarlon covers about one square kilometre when full.
Water from the reservoir travels through more than 13 kilometres of tunnels before joining water from Halslon on its way to Fljotsdalur Power Station.
