Tangavatn is a natural highland lake in the Westfjords used as regulated storage for Mjolkar Hydropower Plant. Its water level is controlled by Tangavatn Dam.
The lake provides approximately 1.2 GL of storage and forms part of the network of reservoirs and diversions supplying the power station.
