Sléttueyri Lighthouse stands on Sléttunes north of the entrance to Jökulfirðir. It was built in 1949 to a design by engineer Axel Sveinsson and is 4.85 metres high. Gas lighting was used until the lighthouse was converted to solar power in 1993.
The lighthouse is 4.9 metres high. The light has a listed range of 7 nautical miles.
