Discover Iceland
Kálfshamarsviti is a lighthouse or navigational landmark in North Iceland, connected with Iceland’s maritime history and coastal travel. Such locations often provide broad views over the sea, headlands and surrounding mountains.
A visit can be combined with Skagaströnd and Kálfshamarsvík. Around exposed cliffs and coastlines, take care in strong wind, slippery conditions and heavy surf.
The present Kálfshamarsviti was built in 1940 and entered service in 1942. It is part of Iceland's functionalist lighthouse tradition.
