Skarðsfjöru Lighthouse was built in 1959 and is located along the coastline at Skarðsfjara. The lighthouse stands 2.5 metres tall, with a focal height of 25 metres above sea level.
The lighthouse plays an important role in guiding ships and boats along Iceland’s southern coast and forms part of the country’s extensive lighthouse network.
The lighthouse keeper is Hávarður Ólafsson, Fljótakróki – 800 Kirkjubæjarklaustri.
