Saudafell Reservoir forms part of the Thorisvatn regulation system and is associated with Kaldakvisl Dam near Saudafell in Iceland's central Highlands. Water from the Kaldakvisl river is collected and diverted towards Lake Thorisvatn.
The development increased the amount of water available for storage and hydropower generation farther downstream.
