Irafoss Dam is a dam structure on the Sog river above Irafoss and forms part of Irafoss Power Station. The river is dammed at approximately the same elevation as the tailwater from Ljosafoss Power Station.
Irafoss Power Station harnesses the combined drop of Irafoss and Kistufoss and entered service in 1953. It was Iceland's first underground power station and remained the country's largest hydropower plant until Burfell entered service in 1970.
