Dimmakrók is a dark rock hollow and deep gorge in the mountains above Ásólfsskálar in South Iceland. Steep slopes, rock formations and the enclosed terrain give the area a rugged character that differs greatly from the more heavily visited attractions beneath Eyjafjöll.

Dimmakrók is also connected with local folklore. According to traditional stories, a troll woman once lived here before moving to Tröllagil. Stories like this illustrate the close relationship between Icelandic place names, landscapes and folklore.

This is not a developed tourist site and conditions may vary considerably with weather and season. Visitors should take particular care around steep slopes, loose rock and slippery ground.
