Bjarnarey is a steep, grass-covered volcanic island in the Vestmannaeyjar archipelago east of Heimaey. High sea cliffs surround much of the island and support large seabird colonies, including puffins. The island is uninhabited and access is difficult, requiring a boat and suitable conditions.
