West Iceland

West Iceland is a varied region of volcanoes, glaciers, lava fields, waterfalls, coastal communities and historic sites. It stretches from the shores of Faxaflói through Borgarfjörður and west toward the Snæfellsnes Peninsula.

A journey through West Iceland can combine geology, local history and outdoor experiences, including places such as Grábrók and the wider Borgarfjörður area. The region works well for both day trips and longer routes.
