Súðavík is a village located on the southern shore of Ísafjarðardjúp in the Westfjords of Iceland. The settlement lies by Álftafjörður and has traditionally relied on fishing and agriculture as its main sources of livelihood.

On 1 January 1995, the municipalities of Ögur and Reykjarfjörður were merged into Súðavík municipality, forming a single local authority in the area.

Súðavík became deeply etched into Icelandic history on 16 January 1995, when a devastating snow avalanche struck the village. Fourteen people lost their lives in one of the deadliest natural disasters in modern Icelandic history.

Following the avalanche, authorities decided to relocate the village further into the fjord, as much of the original settlement lay within a high-risk avalanche zone. The new town was rebuilt in a safer location and became one of the first communities in Iceland to be fully redesigned with advanced avalanche protection measures.

Today, Súðavík is a welcoming coastal village known for its dramatic surroundings, strong community spirit, and nearby natural attractions. The village is home to the Arctic Fox Centre, offers excellent opportunities for outdoor activities, and lies within easy reach of both Ísafjörður and Bolungarvík.

Súðavík er áhugaverður staður á Íslandi sem vert er að heimsækja.
