Churches of Iceland
Ögur Church stands at Ögur by Ísafjarðardjúp in the Westfjords, on a historic church site between Skötufjörður and Mjóifjörður. The present timber church was built in 1859.
The church contains historic furnishings and artefacts, including an altarpiece by Anker Lund from 1889. Together with the surrounding farm and fjord landscape, it forms an important part of the cultural history of the area.
