Kolka Dam is one of the two principal dams forming Blondulon reservoir. It is located near the headwaters of Kolkukvisl, which formerly flowed towards Vatnsdalsa.
The dam is approximately 1,300 metres long and about 25 metres high. Water leaves Blondulon near Kolka Dam and travels through diversion canals and several lakes across Audkuluheidi towards Gilsarlon, the intake reservoir for Blanda Power Station.
