Halslon is the main storage reservoir of the Karahnjukar hydropower development north of Vatnajokull. It is retained by Karahnjukar Dam, Desjara Dam and Saudardalur Dam and extends south towards Bruarjokull glacier.
The reservoir covers approximately 63 square kilometres when full. Water from Halslon travels through long underground tunnels beneath Fljotsdalsheidi to Fljotsdalur Power Station.
