Thjorsa Dam forms part of the fifth stage of the Kvislaveita diversion system and creates Thjorsarlon reservoir on the upper Thjorsa river.
The dam is approximately 630 metres long and reaches a maximum height of about 17 metres. It is associated with Austurkvisl Dam and the Thjorsa canal, which together form the fifth stage of Kvislaveita.
