Pollurinn
Pollurinn is a small and charming natural hot pool
located near
Tálknafjörður
in the
Westfjords
of Iceland.
For decades, the pool has been a favourite bathing spot
for both locals and travellers seeking relaxation
in peaceful surroundings.
The pool is naturally heated by geothermal water
that rises from the ground beneath it.
Water temperature can vary depending on season,
rainfall and the flow of nearby streams,
but is generally comfortable for bathing.
Situated close to the shoreline,
Pollurinn offers beautiful views across the fjord
and the surrounding mountains.
On calm summer evenings,
visitors can enjoy the midnight light,
while during winter months
the northern lights may appear above the pool.
Access to Pollurinn is easy,
with a short walk leading from the nearby parking area.
Although facilities are minimal,
the simplicity of the pool is part of its charm,
reflecting Iceland’s long tradition
of bathing in natural hot springs.
Pollurinn is a fine example of Iceland’s small-scale geothermal wonders —
an unpretentious yet memorable hot spring
where warm water, fresh air and quiet fjord scenery
combine to create a relaxing experience.
