Although relatively small, Hlið forms part of the varied natural landscape of Álftanes, combining coastal habitats, vegetation and open countryside suitable for short walks and nature observation.
A visit can easily be combined with other attractions on Álftanes. Nearby places include Bessastaðir, Bessastaðatjörn and Kasthúsatjörn Nature Reserve.
