Hvammstangi Hospital Chapel

Hvammstangi Hospital Chapel is a church in North Iceland and forms part of the area’s religious, architectural and cultural history. Churches in Iceland often reflect the story of the communities they serve and can be rewarding stops for visitors interested in local history and architecture.

A visit can be combined with Reykjavík and South Iceland. Churches are active places of worship, so visitors should be respectful, avoid disturbing services or events, and check access before entering.
