Magnúsarfoss is a waterfall in Skaftafell in Vatnajökull National Park and is one of several waterfalls found along the walking routes of the area. The waterfall descends through dark rock in the green slopes of Skaftafell. The surrounding landscape is known for dramatic contrasts between vegetation, glaciers, mountains and broad glacial outwash plains. Magnúsarfoss is considerably less famous than nearby Svartifoss and can easily be overlooked by visitors who focus only on the best-known attractions. It is best experienced as part of a longer walk through Skaftafell, allowing time to explore several waterfalls and viewpoints in the same area.
