Hundafoss Waterfall

Hundafoss is a waterfall in Skaftafell within Vatnajökull National Park in South Iceland. It lies along one of the popular walking routes through Skaftafell and many visitors pass it while hiking towards Svartifoss. The waterfall drops through a green, sheltered gorge and can be partly hidden by vegetation. Although less famous than nearby Svartifoss, Hundafoss adds another interesting stop to the walk. The trail network in Skaftafell is well established, although paths can become wet and slippery depending on weather. Views of mountains, glaciers and the surrounding outwash plains make the walk part of a much broader natural experience. Hundafoss is particularly easy to combine with a visit to Svartifoss and other attractions in Skaftafell.
