Discover Iceland
Botnsfjall is a low but prominent mountain on the western Snæfellsnes Peninsula, located close to Arnarstapi. The mountain is known for its rugged appearance and for containing Rauðfeldsgjá, a deep and dramatic ravine carved into its slopes.
Landforms and mountain landscapes are an important part of the area’s natural character. Visitors should avoid unnecessary disturbance, follow established routes where possible and plan according to weather and conditions.
To place the stop in the wider context of a trip through the region, see Borgarnes and other destinations in the same part of Iceland.
