Heiðarbær Campsite is a well-located camping area in Þingeyjarsýsla, approximately 20 kilometres from Húsavík in North Iceland. The campsite offers facilities for tents, caravans, and motorhomes, along with good sanitary services.
The site provides a range of recreational facilities including a playground, mini golf course, and a small sports field, making it especially suitable for families. Electricity is available at camping pitches, and internet access is provided for guests.
Service buildings are located at Heiðarbær itself, where visitors can also find a restaurant, accommodation, and a swimming pool. The campsite lies directly along Route 87, offering convenient access for travelers exploring the region.
Several of North Iceland’s most popular attractions are within easy reach, including Lake Mývatn, Goðafoss Waterfall, and Jökulsárgljúfur Canyon. Whale watching tours depart from nearby Húsavík, and the geothermal area at Þeistareykir is also close by.
Fishing permits for Langavatn and Kringluvatn are available through Heiðarbær, while full general services can be found in Húsavík, a short drive from the campsite.
Campsite with toilets, showers, hot and cold water, electricity, Wi-Fi and laundry facilities. Motorhome waste disposal is available. A swimming pool, food service and playground are also on site.
