Campsite information

Þakgil campsite is located about 20 km from Vík in Mýrdalur in a sheltered valley surrounded by dramatic mountains. The campsite has toilets, showers and electricity, and a natural cave is used as a dining and gathering area with tables, benches and barbecue facilities. Numerous hiking routes lead through the surrounding canyons and towards views of Mýrdalsjökull.
