Hvalnes Beach is a coastal or beach area in East Iceland, shaped by open shoreline, sea views and the surrounding landscape. Tides, light and weather can change the character of the coast significantly, making each visit look and feel different.
The visit can be combined with Djúpivogur and Hvalnesviti. Around Icelandic coasts, always keep a safe distance from strong surf and pay close attention to local conditions.
Hvalnes is a small peninsula in Southeast Iceland with a black pebble beach stretching for several kilometres. The Hvalnes lighthouse stands on the peninsula and the beach is well suited for walking, birdwatching and photography.
