Franshellir Cave
Franshellir is a cave shelter in West Iceland associated with Jón Frans. He is said to have used the cave as a hiding place while fleeing the authorities in the early nineteenth century.
The cave lies in a lava landscape east of Reykjavatn and combines natural history with Icelandic outlaw folklore.
