Fjarðabyggð is a municipality in East Iceland, formed in 1998 through the merger of Eskifjörður, Reyðarfjörður and Neskaupstaður. The municipality covers several of Iceland’s most scenic fjords and plays an important role in the economy and settlement of the Eastfjords.
