Hrafnabjargafoss Waterfall

Hrafnabjargafoss is a waterfall in the Skjálfandafljót river in North Iceland, south of Aldeyjarfoss. It forms part of the remarkable series of waterfalls, lava formations and gorges created by the river. Hrafnabjargafoss is much less visited than Goðafoss and Aldeyjarfoss, offering a quieter and more remote landscape for travellers willing to explore farther into Bárðardalur. Road and weather conditions can vary considerably in this area, particularly towards the edge of the highlands, so conditions should always be checked before travelling. The waterfall can be combined with other waterfalls along Skjálfandafljót for a rewarding journey through one of Iceland's most impressive river landscapes.
