About Humpback Whale

The humpback whale is one of the best-known whales around Iceland and a favourite on whale-watching tours. It is a large baleen whale famous for its long pectoral fins, spectacular breaches and active surface behaviour.

Habitat

Cold-temperate and sub-Arctic seas, fjords and continental shelf waters.

Diet

Krill, capelin, herring and other small schooling fish.
