The Eurasian teal is a small dabbling duck and the smallest duck that breeds regularly in Iceland. It inhabits shallow lakes, ponds and wetlands.
It feeds on seeds, aquatic vegetation and small invertebrates. Eurasian teal breed in Iceland and some remain through the winter.
