The greater white-fronted goose is a migratory species that visits Iceland
mainly during spring and autumn migration. It prefers grasslands, wetlands,
and areas near lakes. The species is easily recognized by the white patch on
its forehead.
Its diet consists of grasses and plants. Greater white-fronted geese breed in
Arctic regions and only spend part of the year in Iceland. They are regular
migrants through the country.
