The little auk is a small black-and-white seabird of the auk family. It breeds in the High Arctic and is mainly encountered around Iceland outside the breeding season.
Little auks feed primarily on plankton and small crustaceans captured at sea. Large flocks can sometimes be seen offshore when conditions are favourable.
