The parasitic jaeger is a medium-sized seabird that breeds in Iceland, usually on open ground near the coast. It is an agile and powerful flyer.
It is famous for chasing other birds in flight and forcing them to surrender food. It also feeds on insects, eggs, chicks and other small animals.
